Continuing to speak out for the right to education, she was revealed as the author of the BBC blog. On October 9th 2012, Malala was shot through the left side of her head, neck, and shoulder.
However, this didn’t stop her. The Taliban’s attempt to kill Malala created worldwide condemnation and led to protests across Pakistan, with over two million people signing the Right to Education petition.
Malala became a global advocate of education for girls, and even received the Nobel Peace Prize last year at age 17, becoming the youngest person to ever receive the award. She now has a fund to bring awareness to the social and economic impact of girls’ education, to demand change and raise awareness. ‘He Named me Malala’ shows Malala’s incredible journey and gives an insight into her world, and the changes we need to make.
